You cant use to port date after using AC21 ,your job responsiblities need to be same or of smiliar nature so u cant interfile as EB2 job responsiblities will differ. Porting of dates always carries risks more checks more documentations.
If I stay with my GC sponser, can I then port the date? If so, when am I free to leave the company? Is it after the EB2 I140 is approved?

Yes, the I94 that was attached to I797 H1 approval of your current employer(the latest H1) is the I-94 that you have to give to authorities when you go out of US to India.
Some Airports, they collect that at the baggage check-in. Some airports, they collect the I-94 right outside the plane when you are boarding the plane and get your boarding pass scanned etc. But it is your responsibility to give them the correct I-94.
About the docs required for stamping, I would talk to someone in the consulate (phone them or email them, emails are usually replied within 3-4 days). Copies are good, but original previous H1s, if required, should be with you. If you dont need originals then copies would be fine. I wouldnt rely on websites alone for such important queries. Visa stamping, if gone wrong, could get your stuck for months.
Ask your previous employers for those. Now that you have left, they should give you those as they dont have any use of them anyways. If they dont, then you can get them from the lawyer's offices. If they dont either, then you can get copies from USCIS(FOIA), though I am not sure how FOIA would work and how long would that take.

Dear Friend I totally agree with you. I was with one of these employers and have moved away from them. As suggested by some members you can report about these fraudulent activities to DOL. I know it is dufficult to leave these employers as they make the employees to sign bonds and try to capture all the money that they have acquired in PF etc back in the native country.
These employers are to be blamed for the current economy condition of this country and the condition of immigrants like us.
I know there are some members in this forum who will try to shout you down and make you quite.
But I feel if one believe in what is right then one should go ahead irrespective of what others think.

Hi all,
Few days ago I purchased a new D-100 in Hong Kong. After taking the first few shots, I encountered a problem. When pressing the shutter it seems that the shutter is opening but stays open and woun't close. An "Error" notice appear and only after several times of pressing the shutter button it sounds like it is closing. After such few times, I pressed it again - trying to get a photo, the shutter opened up and didn't close. The "Error" notice is up again and now nothing seems to help, not even shutting the camera.
Please please advice. :(

looks like the no. of applications are less compared to initial projections. the 300,000 include june, july, aug filers including spouses, kids. also seems the number includes 140 applications, ead, ap.. can't believe if it can be that less including all the above mentioned....

Do not enter on AP and lose your underlying VISA status unless you have no other choice. Maintain your H1 as long as possible till you get that piece of plastic in hand.

EB3-I, PD Nov 2002, 485 filed 2004. Have EAD and also have approved H1 (year 9 -12), but not stamped on passport. With about 7000 people ahead of me, wait time for my GC is estimated to be 2-3 years.
Have been with employer who filed GC for over 10 years now. There is a job opportunity with another employer, but the job description may be different from what was filed on my original GC. Pay will be similar, but travel will substantially reduced, allowing me to be home more.
What should I be careful of if pursuing this new opportunity? Is there anything I should be asking the new employer for related to the job description filing? Should I be asking them to file H1 transfer or use my EAD? Should I ask them to file EB2-I and port my PD over?

Well, The Travisa & Embassy web site recommends not to book tickets.
Travisa is very good in updating the status at each step. In my case, my son's US passport was submitted on a Friday to Indian Embassy and they processed on following Monday and returned to Travisa on Tuesday, Although Travisa updates, they shipped passport/pio to me on Tuesday, It left the facility only on Wednesday and I received next day.
I personally will wait till I secure the documents in hand before any travel arrangements.

Yes I did, but did not get a dual card. It says on the card - "Not Valid For Reentry to US" - my guess its not dual.
Did you say 2007!? and you haven't rcvd EAD cards till now!. Did you check with USCIS?

My lawyer has initiated conversion of my TR case to a RIR. As per the FAQ provided by him, provided that the job duities and title is the same; he will get a prevaling wage determination from the SWA (this is the stage where I am right now), next he would post the ads for 10 days.... and continue with the regular recruiting procedure as per the RIR rules.
As per his estimate he would be able to file the RIR conversion request (with the recruitment data) to the Philly BEC in 2-3 weeks.
If you want I can e-mail his deatiled FAQ to you.
